Terms of Service

Services Overview
This site describes the web design and AI development services Stack Studios offers. Each individual engagement is governed by its own written proposal, which sets the specific scope, timeline, and price. Stack Studios may engage vetted subcontractors under confidentiality to help deliver a project; Stack Studios remains responsible for the work either way.
Payment
Projects are billed 50% deposit to begin work and 50% on your approval of the finished work, per the proposal. Before work begins, the deposit is refundable in full. Once work has started, any refund is reduced by the work already performed. Deliverables and site launch transfer to you only after the final payment is received.
Revisions
Each project phase includes two structured revision rounds. A round means you send all requested changes as one batch, we make them, and you review the result again. Small tweaks along the way don't count against your rounds.
Client Responsibilities
You're responsible for providing content — text, images, and other materials — that you have the rights to use, and for giving timely feedback so the project can move forward. If a claim arises from materials you provided, that responsibility is yours, not ours.
Project Pause and Abandonment
If we don't hear from you for about 30 days, we may pause or close the project. Any work completed up to that point is billed per the proposal. Restarting a paused project may require re-scoping and a new timeline.
Intellectual Property
You own the delivered website and its content once final payment is received. Accounts — domain, hosting, email, and similar — are set up in your name. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, Stack Studios may display delivered work, including your business name, in its portfolio.
Stock and Third-Party Assets
Some projects use licensed stock photography, fonts, or other third-party assets. Your use of those assets continues under the terms of their original licenses after your project is delivered.
Post-Launch Warranty
Defects in our work — things we built that don't work as intended — are fixed free of charge for 30 days after launch. After that window, fixes are covered under a maintenance plan or a separate quote.
No Guaranteed Outcomes
We don't guarantee specific outcomes like search rankings, traffic, or revenue. We build to good practices; results depend on many factors outside our control.
Limitation of Liability
Our liability for any claim related to an engagement is limited to the fees you paid for that engagement.
Termination
You don't pay for work that wasn't delivered. Either party may end an engagement; you're responsible only for the value of work completed and delivered up to that point.
Entire Agreement and Severability
These terms, together with your project's written proposal, make up the entire agreement between you and Stack Studios for that engagement, and if any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Santa Clara County.
How These Terms Change
We may update these terms as our practices change. The date at the top reflects the most recent update.
